ANOTHER JIM STROUD
one more pencil pic..
SO many sketches and work, but, these are nice and i'm able to show these.... hehe
THis si nothing "new" but i DO like this subject matter quite a bit.
"boy VS giant Robot", because of the high contrasts it may present: human vs machine; small vs big; incense vs knowledge; agility versus force; etc..
I've done drawing like this before, and there's TON of others out there...
Hope you enjoy.
BACK!
these are some sketches i did during my visit to the San Diego Comic Con.
a BIG helo to Terminal Press; L.A.'s THE DEVASTATTOR magazine, Devon Deveraux, the Sequential Art Department and EVERYONE AT THE SCAD BOOTH, Geoff Mosse, Matt Voss, Patric Reynolds, Kel McDonald, Frank Gibson and Becky Dreistad, Jarrett Willaims, SLG! the Periscope Studio, Lee Keeler, Alex Wilson, Michael Bills, Naaman McFarland Meredith McClaren, Bryan Louie, Ernest Gomez, Lauren Stewart, Van Jensen AND SO MANY MORE FOLKS!!

the skies from the hillside
Maybeshewill is a band i listen to quite often and this is a sketch based on their single and closing track from "the skies from the hillside", from their most recent album "i was here for a moment, then i was gone."
the album is the most celestial album i've ever listened to and tho it took a few guesses and moments of doubt as i was listening... i was grasped and moved so deeply that it makes me wanna listen to it again.
i dont wanna compare it to "not want for trying", first off, because "Not want..." is very dear to me and i know that if i compare then, it would make my opinion bias... SO, on its own... as a record, as an album... It is magnificent and i highly recommend it.
